Over 2 million Cosori air fryers have been recalled after reports of the appliance catching fire and even causing property damage, according to an announcement from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Anyone who owns the air fryers, which were made in China, should stop using them immediately, according to the safety agency.

The air fryers were sold between June 2018 and December 2022 at retailers across the country, including Best Buy, Target and Home Depot. The air fryers were also sold online at Amazon, eBay.com and Walmart.com, among a host of other sites.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled air fryers and contact Cosori to receive their choice of a free replacement air fryer or another Cosori product by registering at recall.cosori.com,” the CPSC said in a statement that was published online.

“During registration consumers must provide their contact information and submit photos of the recalled unit with the cord cut off. No receipt is needed to receive a replacement,” the agency continued.

The Cosori air fryers were sold in black, gray, white, blue and red variations that sold for between $70 and $130. The air fryers were also sold in Canada and Mexico, where the company has also issued recalls. “The firm has received 205 reports of the air fryers catching fire, burning, melting, overheating and smoking. These include 10 reports of minor, superficial burn injuries and 23 reports of minor property damage,” the CPSC said.

If you’re unsure whether your particular air fryer is included in the recall, visit the company’s website at recall.cosori.com. The website also has additional contact information for anyone who had additional questions about the recall.
